Does anyone know if the Bridge is still fenced off/the water dried up? I'm hoping to visit the bridge in October 2018 but not sure whether to make the journey if it is still closed?

Hi, I don't think you will have to go to Berlin. You can go to Dresden and from there reach Gorlitz. There are number of trains to Weisswasser from Gorlitz. From Weisswasser you can either take the heritage steam engine train or bus to Kromlau. The Steam Engine Train Station is about 10 minutes walk from the Weisswasser Train Station whereas the bus stop is right next to the Weisswasser Train Station.
