和蒂卡普湖形成的情况一样，同样是冰川融化而成的高地冰川堰塞湖，不同的是这里的湖水在阳光下更蓝的诱惑，原因在于有很多矿物质悬浮在湖里面，阳光作用下反射出奶蓝色（绿松石色），因此这里也有“蓝色牛奶湖”的美誉，同时这里也是电影《指环王》和《霍比特人》三部曲主要场景拍摄地之一。 smpd24的完整评论
