A Vacaville Police Department K9 dog was shot while apprehending a suspect on Wednesday, VPD said. The dog was shot in a limb and is expected to survive. Police responded to a home on the 300 block of Regency Circle after the suspect called 911 and threatened to shoot others.

A K-9 officer was shot while trying to apprehend a suspect in Vacaville on Wednesday, the police department said. Officials later said the K-9 lost one of its legs because of the shooting.

A Vacaville police K9 was injured after being shot by a man Wednesday afternoon. According to the Vacaville Police Department, it happened around 1:30 p.m. when a 52-year-old man called 911 and threatened to shoot others.
