The fires have killed at least five people and forced thousands to evacuate their homes from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena.

Before moving to Iowa, Ben spent 7 years as an evening anchor/reporter at WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, Florida. Ben has also worked in Montana, Washington and Sarasota, Florida.
