Firefighters used a bulldozer to shove abandoned vehicles aside on a roadway in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, as the Palisades fire tore through houses in the neighborhood.

At least five people are dead and many more injured as several fires broke out across Southern California amid historically dry and windy conditions.

Multiple major fires are tearing through parts of the Los Angeles area, with 5 dead and a thousand structures destroyed.
