In 8 out of 10 cases HIV is transmitted during sex ... the other partner through the very thin skin of their sex organs, mouth or anus, or through sores or cuts on their mouth, hands or body.

HIV-positive people ... a rash appears on the skin and on the mucous membranes. This rash is typically not itchy and may develop in the same area where the initial sores healed.
