Investigations are ongoing into the string of events that led to the death of PC Rosie Prior and Ryan Welford, who were struck by an HGV on the A19 near Thirsk on Saturday (July 11) just before 9am.

North Yorkshire Police's PC Rosie Prior and Ryan Welford, 41, died on the motorway, near Thirsk, on Saturday, January 11.

As The Press reported, PC Rosie Prior was off-duty but stopped to help the motorists involved in the crash. PC Prior, 45, and Ryan Welford, 41, from Knaresborough, were pronounced dead at the scene.
