菌种保藏(culture preservation，culture collection)是指保持微生物菌株的生活力和遗传性状的技术。 目的在于把从自然界分离到的野生型，或经人工选育得到的变异型纯种，使其存活、不丢失、不污染杂菌、不发生或少发生变异，保持菌种原有的各种特征和生理活性。
