2013年1月9日 · Also possible, though difficult to imagine, is somehow the alternator was not in alignment with the ring gear to start with. In the pic it almost looks like that tension strap/bar is flexed? May be just an optical illusion. Also, isn't it unusual to safety wire a tension bolt?

Of course, it could have been something entirely different with engine problems, or nav issue or a dozen other things. But the crown presents an optical illusion of limited take off length.

I am not so patiently waiting on dynon to decide on the Skyview HDX, another G5 or to see if the G500's have any impact (able to be useful) in the used market with the Txi's out.

The Zenni Optical Rx glasses were $40 and I've worn them daily for three years without any issues. An amazing value IMHO.

We take off and in straight and level flight with full power the airplane accelerates to 100 MPH indicated airspeed as the tach reaches 2700 rpm limitation.
