Default Gateway is 10.0.0.1; how do I access my modem now?
2018年10月1日 · Under my current network setup, I am unable to access my modem setup pages. My Default Gateway is 10.0.0.1, which is the IP address of my Orbi. If I attempt to access the last known modem IP address of 192.168.1.1, I get a time out (Firefox) or a page not found (Edge). So, the modem is in transparent bridge mode, and the Orbi is in Router mode.

2015年9月1日 · Obviously, 10.0.0.1 is not the assigned IP address of the main router since it is in 192.168 subnet. I recommend resetting the Nighthawk to factory default and do the setup again. If you will set it as an Access Point it should be on the same subnet of the main router which is 192.168.x.x. Same goes with the printer for it to work.

I asked them to restore bridge mode, which they did, and I did a complete reset of the Netgear system to get it back on 192.168.1.1.

2019年9月17日 · Reason that the Orbi is getting a 10.0.0.1 address is that the default IP address of 192.168.1.1 that Orbi normally uses is in conflict with one of the modems. Thus the Orbi changes to something that doesn't conflict with that IP address.

2021年6月25日 · Wneh the WAN (internet) side of the Orbi has an IP address of 192.168.1.x, then it automatically sets the LAN IP subnet to 10.0.0.x (Yes, in theory any of the 192.168.x subnets (bwesides 1) could have been used, but Netgear chose to change to the entirely different private IP space.)

Why 10.0.0.1? I am using an ATT Uverse Residentail gateway in passthrough mode. When I did the initial configurartion of the netgear router is automatically changed the IP address to 10.0.0.1. 10.0.0.1 is correct, as I mentioned in my initial post I can get to the router settings wirelessly using 10.0.0.1 from my laptop.
