2007年2月16日 · Belstaff England was bought out back around 2004 or so. The brand is now produced by an Italian company using the "Belstaff" name. Blame it on Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, and the "Hipster Duffus" types that want to look Macho at Studio 54 for the demise of a motorcycling classic. True Belstaff gear is going like gangbusters on Ebay.

2008年12月1日 · When I worked for Belstaff, another member of staff had a dark green Trialmaster (sic) (a 'Sammy Miller' model IIRC) made in the same waxproofed cloth as the shooting jackets. I have always assumed that it was a 'one-off' (workers often acquired samples etc.) but in the light of your observations it could have been a rare production model.

2007年6月22日 · Belstaff started to buy from YKK (it was Walt Sharman's idea!) in 1974, at the beginning of what became know as 'the zip wars' that eventually put Lightning out of business. The earliest zips I have seen on Belstaff clothing are the 40s pattern curved Lightning style, but I'm sure that the jackets weren't made that early.

2018年1月23日 · I've seen a Belstaff Panther only once, some dude wore it in a store and regardless of what the internet says about the leather they're is using, I remember to this day that it was one of the most impressive looking jackets I had ever seen. The leather was breathtaking. This jacket is suspiciously cheap, that's the problem.

But i always thought that in the waxed cotton world it was 50/50 Belstaff/Barbour (trials world champion Sammy Miller wore Belstaff and the Swedish ISDT team wore Barbour if my memory serves me correct).

2013年6月3日 · Regarding sizes, yes, following Belstaff’s sizing, an XL in other manufacturers is an XXL in Rukka. But the LWU jacket is a bit wide for added comfort during adventure riding, so if you want a tighter fitting jacket an XL will be fine. I’m normally an XL, I have a Belstaff Crosby XXL and a Belstaff LWU XL. A 54 in Rukka and BMW.

2021年10月30日 · From what I have been reading the newer Belstaff have significant improvements over the older ones. First, the material is a single layer of cotton interweaved with nylon which provides more abrasion resistant than cotton.

2018年6月12日 · The Belstaff pockets are a bit stiff and the whole jacket looks like a US Wings Indy jacket (made by Schott) which was available at a fraction of Belstaff's ludicrous pricing. The Nowak jacket design was what Ford's costume designer Bernie Pollack requested - a cowhide (all the others were lambskin) and a better fitting pattern.

2014年5月16日 · Over here the Belstaff name is only known by people who haunt sites like this. We have Drizabone which used to make Belstaff Trailmasters, etc, here under license in the 1960's. I can't say I have any interest in Che or what he wore but I am interested to learn more about why this jacket remains such a key pop item.
