There are several other grown cats, mostly male, that helped the mother (Peggy) care for the kittens. The cats obviously stood guard, and protected the kittens from wandering. There are also raccoons that come up on the deck to eat the cat food.

2016年8月14日 · You will need to stop for several days though too, to break their routine and get the cats coming back for food. Raccoons won't actually hurt adult cats unless the cat is not too bright and takes a stand to them over food, which does trigger an attack. Otherwise they can both eat, even together as long as the supply is plenty to go around.

2001年5月9日 · That's why hoping wasn't killed by raccoons. My 3 cats indoor.Haven't seen coyotes in my area for several years. That doesn't mean they aren't here. City/County did trap/kill or relocate a bunch like 5 yrs ago. I do want cats in yard - that's why I sprinkled very very sparingly and only at different points right around foundation.

I am working on TNR-ing (or TN+socialize, if possible) the 3 cats. Afterward, I want to keep feeding them. But I obviously do not want to feed/encourage the raccoons if possible.

2010年1月8日 · Goldie Jr doesn't seem interested and Half-tail doesn't seem to want anything to do with it either, but then again Runt didn't seem interested in it either until I found him trapped. I hope they all end up caught once at most and then leave it alone, I just need the raccoons and possum, not cats, I already have too many of them.

2013年10月11日 · Raccoons will absolutely eat the babies, and run off mom, or if she tries too much to protect them they will kill her too. They love newborn kittens. If you can get or trap her, bring her inside to have the babies. You can put her in a large cage if needed.
