In addition, it removes a lot of the dissolved solids and allows for separation of congeners, some of which are undesireable in the product. For a rum, double distilling will remove some of the thicker, oily flavors and allow the more delicate rum (molasses) flavors to stand out.

However I am considering sometime in the future doing some redistilling to have some more neutral spirits for flavouring and making apple pie and the like. I am really curious if there is another reason other than the flammability issue.

2018年3月14日 · Home Depot had a kickass deal on a turkey fryer. $40 for a 30k BTU propane burner and it came with a 30 qt aluminum stock pot. Can't use the aluminum for the main boiler obviously..... BUT, it would be a perfect double boiler. So, I can use the propane for now and at least use the double boiler when making mash.
