Making the selection tool default in Adobe Reader DC

A HASSLE, beause it continues to default to the to the select. whatever the answer here is needs to be cleansded up. THERE IS NO VIABLE SOLUTION to this problem that was created for no giod reason. this is the answer I was linked to as the solution.
