2013年7月30日 · Fluids like Redline MTL, MT-90, Royal Purple Synchromax, GM Synchromesh compatible fluids, etc. are typically no higher than GL-4 rated, and are good for manual transmissions. Sychromax and Synchromesh fluids are for manual transmissions that take ATF-weight fluids. MT-90, MT-85, etc. are for trannies that need heavier gear oil.

It's north american counterpart is AGMA 5 R&O gear oil , and alternatively AGMA 5EP Extreme Pressure gear oil . Most modern automotive SAE 90 gear oil miss the KV@40*C by a small margin though close , you need its equivalent in automotive SAE ...

2012年1月30日 · Once the SAE changed the spec the 90 wt became essentially a 110 wt. A multi weight oil is more "true" to its weight being closer to the actual weight on the lable. (Think of how gc 0w30 is almost a 40 wt) I was under the assumption that all SAE 90 wt oils are just thicker then the multi weight oils. Maybe I've got it all wrong...

2020年10月21日 · Looking at my manual for the gear reduction box and final drive box it says: “Agma 5ep extreme pressure oil, SAE 80W90 gear oil or equivalent.” But I used Mobil Delvac 1™ Gear Oil 75W-90 GL-5 sae 75/90 that I had laying around. From what I gather 5ep is a thicker viscosity from other threads but then it says SAE 80W90 or equivalent.

As said above, SAE 80W90 is thinner than a SAE 90. Is this a problem?
