2013年4月18日 · As far as I know, where I am things are run by Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), which is a part of DHS (Department of Human Services). Most people here just say DHS when talking about foster care, although DCFS would be more accurate.

2002年9月25日 · In Illinois, before a case is set for termination, the caseworkers (we are private agency) present the case to the State's Attorney and various DCFS representatives to see if there is enough evidence to terminate parental rights. We can't even have a termination hearing until the case passes screening.

2010年2月13日 · also in our experience....the ffa gets the kids left over that the county is unable to place in county homes. this means older children, opposite gendered siblings, special needs, behavior problems, multiple placements, and drug babies. now for us....our first three kids came from an ffa, and they were hard to place children...but they are perfect for me.

My understanding is that going through DCFS we're limited to in-state kids, and we will foster first. The case worker said that only 20% of the kids in our area who come into foster care go permanently back to the home -- the rest are adopted.

2009年2月17日 · The loop hole we eventually got in on (yay, we found something) was the fact that the girl friend is pregnant, which means there is potential "risk of harm" for the unborn child--therefore DCFS is justified in opening a case against girlfriend & dad, even though they can not open the case against mom & dad.
