Charles V. Champion, Sr. invented the "Tostwich," a combination electric toaster and sandwich maker, before 1920. Mr. Champion applied for a patent for his Tostwich on May 26, 1924 which was granted and registered March 3, 1925. Champion also produced corn popping machines and received a patent on June 30, 1925, for display cases.

Manning - Bowman Antique Vintage Toaster. This unusual toaster has a Catlin base. These are much harder to find than the standard metal base toasters. The base has a crack in the Catlin like most do. It is visible by turning it up side down but just barely as it sits normally. This is clearly shown in pics 2 & 5 . This is a good example of a 30s toaster.
