Apr 16, 2014 · Over the last 6 months, I have been getting a message stating, "Service ESC/Service Traction/ESC Off". It pops up on and off. When this is occurring, I have noticed that the brake light in the rear window will come on while I am driving. If I tap the break, it will shut off for a few seconds, but then come back on. Has anyone else had this problem.

Oct 22, 2011 · As above, Friday the 21st, on dry pavement at 20 mph, the ESC activated. I felt an unusual feeling in the car, saw the lights fluctuate, and noticed the DIC message. Tuesday the 25th I was 300 miles away on dry pavement doing about 30-40, going straight. Felt a similar feeling and noticed the DIC message, "ESC Active".

Nov 17, 2014 · Just paid $620 to fix my torque sensor because I was also getting the exact same issue as mentioned in this forum. My power steering went out and Service ESC message appeared. Mine, unfortunately, went out on a busy interstate in Chicago during rush hour and I had to complete my entire 2 hour trip without any power steering.

Aug 3, 2013 · TC is Traction Control. ESC is Electronic Stability Control. You can manually disable TC with a single press of the TC button. If you press and hold TC for 4 or 8 seconds (I forget right now) you can manually disable ESC. While those systems may use ABS to perform some of their magic they are not disabled due to worn pads.

Jun 24, 2022 · I have a 2011 Chevy Malibu, I had the service esc and service traction control lights started flashing. So we changed all if the spark plugs and coil packs. It still didn’t fix the problem. It’s also misfiring in cylinder 3 and possible exhaust leak. Could it be the catalytic converter messing up? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
