Some amazing watches in there fro a long time collector, Hamiltons, LIPs, Wittnauers, Omegas (the rare "D" shaped constellation one and a denim dialled 2.4 Megaquartz), Bulova and more.
Omega 2531.80 - help with crown replacement / repair
Dec 5, 2024 · I wish I was making this story up. I picked up my new-to-me 2531.80 Seamaster today @ FedEx. First nice watch I’ve ever owned. Sitting in my truck, I opened up the box, unwrapped the watch, etc. I immediately went to try and pop out the crown to set the date and time, and the crown would not budge no matter what I did.

After 8 months the watch was returned and they replaced crystal, time/seconds hands and misc gears. All the parts were returned in a bag (not protected). The face and bezel were cleaned and gaskets replaced.

Jul 30, 2020 · A lot of watch repair manuals from 75 years ago recommend benzene and cyanide for cleaning, and boxwood sawdust for drying. I wouldn't recommend any book that recommends these procedures. Watches have changed so much since many repair manuals were written, that they would be useless dealing with modern watches.
