When I want to scan a .rar file on local drives I see "Scan with Malwarebytes" in the right-click Windows context menu. But When I do the same on a Network Storage drive this option is greyed out.

MB3 will scan directly connected partitions such as those on IDE, SCSI, SATA buses or USB connected. Still though, for your system's security, and assuming no disabled MB3 modules, MB3 still monitors all reads and writes to network mapped partitions.
