Mesquite. This is the beautiful Texas Honey Mesquite. It's one of our favorite woods to work with, and we try to keep a broad selection of cuts in stock. If you don't see what you want, let us know so that we can check the "back room". Most of the photos are taken of our Mesquite when it's dry.

2016年10月27日 · The rule of thumb is that it takes one year per inch of thickness for timber to dry out (ie, for the internal moisture content to equalize with ambient humidity). If you look around, you might find sources of dry turning stock, especially for smaller projects.

Texas Mesquite is well above average in density and hardness, and is highly desirable because of its dimensional stability and color. It is sometimes sold as Texas Ironwood. Texas mesquite will show wind checks, crack bark inclusions and a cream colored sap wood.
